In other occasions I have said I study Psychology... and well, this post is going to be a opportunity to talk about more specific aspects about the career. It has a basic cycle, where you learn a bit of every field related with the discipline, and this is the part of the career which I am presently taking. Later, you can take courses about the different specialisations of Psychology, like clinic, labour, social, educational or legal.
I think it´s okay, and honestly, it seems to me that each subject is important for our professional training. I specially like the subjects "Epistemology of social sciences" and "Theories and systems in psychology", because those are courses focused in the criterions to get knowledge and the basis of the subjectivity´s understanding, respectively. Maybe I would like if the career had more detailing in that topics. I mean, sometimes you forget that you are studying humans and not things, and that has many implications, because human mind is not easy to look into. At the same time, not always you have the chance to inspect the scientific foundations used to study human behaviour, and that generate less critical thinking.
On the other hand, sometimes I think that the career could go on for longer time, because psychology is a field too big, but also I believe that in general terms is fine. Besides, the academic workload is high, but since online modality started, most of the teachers have been understanding and flexible with the assenssments and classes.
With respect to technology, I don´t have complaints because virtual classes has his limits. And teaching methods are good, but I have to admit that interactive and synchronous classes seems more enjoyable. After so much time, the asynchronous videos are a little tiring, but what can we do? In a way, face-to-face method is irreplaceable.
Finally, I miss a lot the faculty and the campus. One of the better things about FACSO was the orange three back yard and the worst were acoustic pollution and small spaces in the classroom. Another aspect about JGM that should be improved is maybe the shortage of green areas.
That´s all, thanks for read this blog. Best regards and take care!
Wow, psychology is really impressive, I didn't know it could cover so many things :O. I also didn't know that the campus had an orange tree >:O. Well, you learn new things every day uwu🌻
ResponderBorrarI study psychology too and I'm agree in the point that you say "sometimes you forget that you are studying humans", because in some subjects that person-thing separation is not very clear and I think that this can sometimes have negative implications
ResponderBorrarI am studying psychology too and I agree most what you said. Regards :)
